Black History Month

Celebrate Employee Diversity & Inclusion at your Company

Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. The event used to be celebrated only for a week in February 1926 and then expanded to a month in 1976.

Celebrate Black History Month as a Diversity & Inclusion event by hosting an event at your company with specially crafted and customized content to match the occasion!

Black History Importance

Why is Black History Month important?

Black History Month was Negro History Week, created in February 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, known as the "father of Black history." For modern-day Black millennials, the month long celebration offers a rare opportunity to rethink what possibilities exist ahead.

But for many people in this position, it's difficult not be overwhelmed by how much has changed since Woodson's time period because they are still fighting against centuries worth of obstacles that were never resolved satisfactorily before now.

Celebrating Black
History Month at Work

You never know what your employees can learn from participating in an event dedicated to Black History Month! Listening, learning and playing are very important ways to help people get new perspectives.  Participating in a game, getting unconscious bias training, volunteering or even attending a lecture on Black History Month is a great way for people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to be exposed to the challenges and discrimination faced by blacks in this country and elsewhere.
